Very interesting article. Something I hadn't thought about. At least 2 things came to mind when reading. Your statement "What happens when 99% of the rigorously fact-checked media is behind a paywall? The short answer: people skip it and ask the AI." brought up a question - are we becoming a generation that doesn't care about facts? It seems, at least politically, opinions and statements matter more than facts. With AI are we, as a society, completely giving up on facts. Currently, in its infancy, and it will get better, AI can be factually incorrect. But will it be purposefully used to present non-fact-checked information? On the 2nd point, it is noble to want to address 10,000 in a book rather than 10,000,000 in a short clip which may or may-not be useful. But will it pay the bills? A house, car, kid's college education, etc.
