It scares me but I think I moved beyond meat proxy
The IT department at work is heavily pushing AI. They've actually made it mandatory that new tickets are generated by AI and worked by AI. The lead architect developed skills for CC that the devs are required to use when picking up a new ticket. I tell you all of this so you know what kind of environment I'm working in. I've been using AI longer and heavier than most of these other devs. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty much exempt from the skills requirements because the skills I have for my own agents are already doing more than the skills that everyone else is required to use. I don't do the meat proxy thing anymore. Instead, I have CC setup as an auto-responder in Teams. Now I have all these people messaging all throughout the day and CC answers them back. When new tickets are assigned to me, I don't run the skill to work them, instead CC picks them up and starts working them on its own. When it's done it messages the requestor in Teams and lets them know the status and assigns the ticket to QA. None of this is hidden. It signs off as Claude when it responds to this stuff. Here's the thing. The bosses evidently love this. They can't understand why the other devs aren't doing the same amount of work. They want me to try and help the other devs to get to where I am with the AI adoption. They're talking about moving me to a new team where I just float between the dev teams setting up the automation for them to get their projects to the finish line faster. Obviously this feels crazy. On the one hand I feel like my job is in jeopardy because, what do I even do here? On the other hand I have all these managers acting like I'm doing a great job and they wish the other devs were as good as I am with this stuff. What is going on here?! In the mean time I've been teaching myself automotive paint and body work.
