About 5,000 runners take part in America's Finest City Half Marathon and 5K
San Diego’s streets were packed with runners Sunday morning as about 5,000 people took part in the 49th annual America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K.
The 13.1-mile half marathon took runners through Point Loma, along San Diego Bay and Harbor Island, before wrapping up in Balboa Park. The 5K followed a shorter course through the park.
Runners, families, run clubs and spectators came out to cheer on participants and celebrate one of San Diego’s longtime running events.

This year’s race also marked the final event in the SoCal Triple Crown, a three-race series that includes the Carlsbad Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K and the GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K.
Nearly 1,700 runners completed all three races this year, earning a special SoCal Triple Crown medal and additional post-race perks.
