If you are playing on a team, you need to seek out players of your own degree of enthusiasm.

I designed both first person shooters and real time strategy games, which are famously the most competitive games out there. But everyone deserves to have fun. One man's "toxic obsessive" is another man's "he fights to win".

Seek your level. I'm not talking skill - I'm talking how seriously you take the game. Frankly, I'm a lightweight here - it's just a game to me, so it's more fun when other team members laugh at me when I get hammered, and own up to their own mistakes.

But I also understand and support those who are more competitive.
