Some people were a bit upset about Life of Brian of course, but on the other hand, Life of Brian absolutely showed Christ! The wise men mistakenly show up at Brian's manger, but then are directed to the right one. In another scene Christ in the distance preaching, while Brian is in the foreground being an idiot.So Christ is literally a real person in Life of Brian. It's surprisingly respectful, given the subject matter and the team producing it.

As another comparison - the Book of Mormon musical was made with the express purpose of mocking and denigrating my faith. What did my church do? Did we organize protests? Did we throw paint on the actors? No. My church took out a full-page ad in the Book of Mormon musical's program offering to give people a real Book of Mormon to check it out for themselves. That's class.
