They made a big deal about retaining /some/ views now because it's too expensive to rebuild them and recompute layout.

Maybe the caching will become so efficient they’ll introduce an API so you can tell the system you want redraw! Maybe they’ll call it something like setNeedsDisplay or setNeedsDisplayInRect: and they’ll announce it at WWDC 2030 and everyone will clap!
