Review|DDOG 26Q3: Minimum Commitments and Renewal Pricing Weigh on the 26Q4 Guide
Executive Summary
DDOG’s 26Q3 revenue grew 35.2% YoY, about 6 percentage points above the guided growth rate and close to our preview’s 36%, with non-AI growth accelerating for a fifth straight quarter. However, the 26Q4 guide of 25–26% fell short of the high-end buy-side expectation of 30–31%, versus consensus of about 26%. The largest customer is included at its minimum commitment despite spending well above it in Q3, while several large customers renewed early at lower prices. We estimate 26Q4 revenue growth of about 34%. These customer and pricing changes make quarterly revenue harder to forecast, while non-AI demand remains solid.
Results: Q3 Meets Buy-Side Expectations; Q4 Guidance Falls Short
- Q3 revenue growth was broadly in line with buy-side expectations. The full-year guidance midpoint rose by $60m, broadly matching the $57.1m Q3 revenue beat against the prior guidance midpoint, leaving implied Q4 revenue guidance little changed since August.
- Non-AI growth accelerated ~1pt to the high-20s, and infrastructure monitoring, about half of ARR, grew mid-30s.
- Non-GAAP OPM was 27.9% versus ~23% guided; FCF margin was 21% on collection timing.
- Billings +30%, RPO +38%, cRPO up mid-30s%.
Minimum Commitments, Renewal Pricing and Seasonality Shape the Q4 Guide
The CFO identified three factors affecting sequential Q4 revenue growth. These factors do not, by themselves, indicate weaker underlying demand.
