Banana Republic Debuts TikTok Series ‘The Agency’ Starring Jack Innanen
Banana Republic has launched “The Agency,” a five-part short-form video series starring Jack Innanen that marks the brand’s first venture into channel-first original programming. The debut episode has drawn 10 million views, with episode two surpassing 3 million views since its release earlier this week.
The TikTok-first series follows Travel & Tours, a struggling fictional New York City travel agency, as corporate consultant Dana, played by Taylor Ortega, arrives to modernize its operations. Innanen plays the agency’s entire eccentric staff: Howard, an insecure senior manager; Barry, an overconfident cruise expert; Roland, a self-described Francophile who hasn’t left the U.S. since 1998; and Dean, an anxious lead on the Adventure Desk. Writer and actor Milo Tucker-Meyer plays Eli, the agency’s intern and Howard’s son.
“Storytelling has been part of Banana Republic’s DNA since it was founded by a journalist and an illustrator in 1978,” said Meena Anvary, Banana Republic’s Chief Marketing Officer, in a press release. “With ‘The Agency,’ we’re bringing that to life in an entirely new way, blending fashion and entertainment with a nostalgic sense of wit and irreverence.”
Each character’s wardrobe draws on Banana Republic’s design codes and archive, including linen, leather, and pieces from its Archive Reissue collection, built to visually distinguish personalities across the cast. The series is produced through Banana Republic Productions and will roll out weekly episodes alongside behind-the-scenes content across the brand’s owned channels.
According to Marketing Dive, the series lands as parent company Gap Inc. builds out Fashiontainment, an entertainment marketing platform it has expanded this year with the hiring of former Paramount executive Pam Kaufman as its first chief entertainment officer. In September, the Gap brand struck a deal with boy band Just Your Type, the platform’s first tie-up. Banana Republic posted comparable sales growth of 3% in Q2 2026, according to Gap Inc.’s latest earnings report, while the Gap brand grew 10% in the same period, Athleta declined 12%, and Old Navy fell 4%.
Banana Republic joins brands including CeraVe, Marc Jacobs, and E.l.f. Cosmetics in producing original content aimed at reaching younger audiences.
