I vibe-coded a local-first dashboard with Claude to replace my 5-tab Google setup (Calendar, Keep, Tasks, Sheets, Fit) — mosaic

Background: my "productivity setup" was five separate Google tabs — Calendar, Keep for notes, Tasks, a Sheet for habit tracking, and Google Fit for sleep. Switching between them constantly was the actual problem, not any single tool being bad. So I built mosaic: one board where you drag widgets onto an infinite canvas instead of tab-switching. How it got built: I vibe-coded it with Claude. I'm not a professional developer — I drove the product decisions, feature scope, and design, and Claude wrote the large majority of the actual code (Next.js 16, React 19, Zustand, IndexedDB for storage, Electron for the desktop builds). Being upfront about that since it's relevant to anyone judging the code quality or wondering how a solo non-dev shipped something this size. What's actually in it, 17 widget types so far, including: Calendar — recurring events, reminders, ICS import/export A habit tracker with weekly completion logs — habits can be scheduled directly as calendar events Notes, a spreadsheet, charts Sleep/water logging, with live links into the chart widget so you're not manually re-entering data twice A PDF/EPUB reader with highlights Optional AI assistant — BYOK only (you paste your own Anthropic/OpenAI/Gemini key), goes straight to your provider, nothing routed through me Everything is local-first: data lives in the browser's IndexedDB or a local file via the desktop app (Linux/Mac/Windows, auto-updating). No account, no backend — there's nothing of mine to send your data to even if I wanted to. License: PolyForm Noncommercial — source-available, not open source, saying this plainly so nobody feels misled later. You can read the whole codebase, self-host it, modify it for personal use; you just can't resell it.
