OpenAI Adds New Irish Roles in Boost to Firm’s EU Headquarters

Advanced Generative AI Tools as Major Tech Companies Urge Lawmakers to Avoid Heavy-handed Regulation

OpenAI announced it would add new jobs in Dublin, a further sign of rapid growth at the ChatGPT-maker’s European headquarters.

The artificial intelligence company announced 200 new roles in a statement Monday, adding to the 250 previously announced in July. It currently employs over 120 people in Ireland.

Technical roles added include forward deployed engineers who will deploy AI applications, as well as solutions and privacy engineers. Hiring also includes sales and user operation functions.

Ireland already hosts the European headquarters of many of the largest tech companies such as Meta Platforms Inc., Apple Inc. and Alphabet Inc.

Fintech Stripe Inc. also announced it would expand operations at its Dublin office earlier this month. The new roles boost the capital city hit by a spate of artificial intelligence-related job cuts.
