Updating FreshRSS Without Losing Everything?
I've been using FreshRSS for over a year and love it. I run it in Docker on my UGreen NAS at home, I access it in my web browser on desktop and in Reeder 4 on iOS, and I use Tailscale to access it from anywhere. A problem I've had multiple times, though, is updating to new versions when they release. Whenever I update the Docker container, the next time I try to access my FreshRSS instance it makes me set everything up from scratch and I lose everything. I have to re-import all my subscriptions and manually mark everything that I hadn't read yet as unread, which takes forever. I've tried reading through a bunch of documentation on both backing up/restoring and updating and nothing is really clear enough for me to understand what's happening, how to avoid it, or how to restore the database itself from a backup. I'll admit I'm pretty terrible at figuring out how to navigate and run commands using the terminal, and I prefer using the menus in the apps/web interfaces themselves to configure things. I've tried to read up on using terminal for these things but all of the resources I can find assume a familiarity with it that I don't have, and there're no more basic guides I can find that fill in my knowledge gaps. Has anyone experienced this, and found a workaround? If you're a FreshRSS user, how do you update without losing everything?
