I built a StumbleUpon type feed of the most-upvoted web projects on Reddit and HN
Over the past few years, I’ve seen indie development take off, but many attempts to capture this creativity and revive the StumbleUpon concept have fallen short, mostly due (in my opinion) to having lackluster entries. My website allows forums to act as a tried-and-true quality filtering system to show you the best of the online development scene. This site runs an automatic ingestion every 3 days, selecting the most-upvoted posts across all the linked subreddits and Hacker News over the past week and month (feel free to suggest more good sources of web projects), that center around a standalone project hosted on a non-major site (so not Github, App Store, Steam, etc). In this way, projects can be viewed quickly and easily within the browser. Websites that disable iframe embedding are still ranked on the leaderboard, but aren’t shown in the live view. Ideally, this website stirs your creativity, serves a somewhat-accurate snapshot of the web development scene, and shows that the internet can still be fun to explore.
