I’m building Tripovela: a travel community where a useful comment can become part of your trip
I'm Mike. I love traveling, but planning often means jumping between a social feed, maps and booking sites. Some sites feel more focused on pushing an offer than helping me find what I need. I wanted a place that starts with travelers helping each other. That's why I'm building Tripovela. It's a social travel website with stories, questions, place collections and shareable routes, plus place search and a map. The part I'm trying to get right is what happens after you read a useful post: take its places into your own trip, copy a route and change it, or use a recommendation from a reply as an alternative. tripovela.com It's a new community, and I'm one person building it. There are still bugs and rough edges. I'd like honest feedback: is the purpose obvious when you arrive? What feels unnecessary or confusing? What have you wanted from other travel communities that they don't give you? A transparent note on money: some places and activities have affiliate booking links. The social and planning tools are free; third-party bookings can cost money. My intention is to use future revenue for servers, new services and improvements, and eventually to give back through community gifts, competitions or help funding trips. I don't have a budget for that yet, so these are future goals, not rewards available now. I want the site to serve the community, rather than make the community a pretext for selling bookings. I'd particularly appreciate feedback from people who enjoy sharing their own trips. What would make sharing useful to you, even before there's a large audience?
