Comment on Moving from WordPress to Substack by Avdi Grimm

Please don't; I'll miss your writing s😔 Substack hates the open web with a burning passion; recently they graduated to "this article is free but you can only read it in the app", and who knows what they'll come up with next. Unfortunately paying their investors hinges on this kind of pathological behavior.

There are a select few people and orgs who I support monitarily on Substack; it's a reasonable Patreon-alike for "hey please pay me to be part of my closed community and support what I do". But I just don't have the spoons to route around their arbitrary obstacles to reading blogs.
