Web Excursions for October 2nd, 2026

Web excursions brought to you in partnership with CleanMyMac X, all the tools to speed up your Mac, in one app.
Three native Mac apps that talk to each other instead of the cloud. Take records the screen, Minutes writes the meeting notes on device, Crest runs them both from the notch. Pay once, $19.99 for Crest Pro or $24.99 for all three, and nothing you record leaves your Mac.
This is a really nice take on notch apps. Music, interaction with your LLMs, Calendar, Notes, Shelf… all the stuff you’d want in one place.
Peeka is a tiny ghost for your Mac. When you’ve been staring too long, it gets sleepy, pulls a blanket over your screen, and counts to 20 while you look away. One-time purchase.
Really cute. I’ve already started using it and it’s great for ADHD hyperfocus, reminding me to take eye breaks when I’ve been staring at my screen too long.
Entune is an open-source, cross-platform dictation app. Record in your browser, choose a cloud or local speech model, and keep your recordings on your computer. On macOS, you can also dictate into other apps with a global shortcut. Its personal dictionary learns from your dictation; a decision model chooses when a dictionary replacement actually fits the sentence.
StareMaster From Matt Braun, creator of SketchParty TV: StareMaster is the ultimate staring contest for iPhone. Lock eyes with 3D opponents and don’t blink. Share your stare-downs and climb the Game Center leaderboards. Kinda the opposite of Peeka, I guess.
