Bonus Design Prompt 18: September

Hello! I’m swooping in here on a Tuesday afternoon with an extra design prompt for us this month before we get into the spooky season of October! This morning I fell down another design rabbit hole, reading about the great type and book designer William Addison Dwiggins. If you have a moment, this article about his lost typefaces is a fascinating read. He feels like a kindred spirit, and can you believe that in 1922, he coined the term “graphic designer”? After seeing this photo of his work, I remembered buying a dip pen after attending Annie Atkin’s prop-making workshop. My gears started to turn, as I’m always thinking about how to bring more analog methods into my design work. So I took this photo as inspiration, remembered Annie’s tips and tricks, found my dip pen and ink buried in a box under my guest bed, and got to work.
