Can two bodies be at thermal equilibrium while having different temperatures?
I am learning about thermodynamics and while doing so i came across this question; at first i was confident that the answer would be 'no' however the teacher said it is possible and the answer is yes, i am a bit confused as to what i should answer if i am asked this question. i searched using google and what i came across was no. does thermal equilibrium mean: when there is no net change in heat transfer and the systems have the same temperature or when the macroscopic properties of a system, like mass, volume, pressure, temperature, and no. of particles, are kept constant the body is said to be in thermal equilibrium. both of the definitions slightly contradict when it comes to answer my question.
