How do you survive at work with a limited AI budget but unlimited expectations?

The business expects faster delivery because "you have AI now" , but the budget is $500/month by default, $1000 if you open a helpdesk ticket. I don't use heavy models and maximum efforts -- I use Opus 5/5.5 at medium, no fleets of agents, mostly sequential work - and still burn through it in 1-1.5 weeks. Then what? Back to manual coding for the rest of the month, while the delivery expectations obviously don't go back. Moreover, the whole flow has changed, e.g.: the docs are not anymore human readable, and asking AI to explain what's written there is not possible after you drain out your AI budget . Sure, you can optimize prompts, use cheaper models, do more manually, etc. But at some point you're basically optimizing away the productivity gain you're expected to provide. Feels like: "Here's an excavator, now dig 10x faster. Also, you only get fuel for one week." How does this work at your company? Bigger budgets? Unlimited usage? Constantly asking for increases? Or the same situation?
