Grandfathered Premium Business Plan, Very Mixed Upgrade Offers

We have T-Mobile's Business Unlimited Ultimate Plan. We've been with T-Mobile since about mid 2023, if I recall correctly, so the plan is not that old. And at the time it was sold to us, it was pitched as a very premium plan with all the bells and whistles and good upgrade offers every 2 years, essentially the business equivalent of Go5G Plus. But from almost the moment we bought it, T-Mobile seems to try to push us on to more expensive plans every time we try and do a handset upgrade, telling us that our current plan is not eligible for promotional upgrade offers. So far, we have managed to stick with our original plan and find decent offers, often requiring patience and/or persistence. And recently, they have made it even more difficult to get upgrade promotions, even with trade-in and multi-year EIPs. We certainly don't get anything like the "on us" promotions (aka "free" after promotional credits) that some newer premium plans get with trade-in and EIP, and that we used to get on our plan. But the strangest thing now are the discrepancies. When I put together a cart in the T-Life app, T-Mobile will give us up to $900 towards a new Pixel phone (a number that was $500 during the presales but has since been bumped up) with trade-in of almost any phone that's about 2 years old and a new EIP contract -- shy of the $1,100 some newer plans receive, but still decent. But they've essentially killed the promos on iPhone 18 pro series phones, capping the offers at $300 (in some cases, the trade-in phone itself is worth more than the promotional maximum, meaning there is effectively no promotion at all), a far cry from the $1,200 that some newer premium plans can get for upgrades. Some of us are Android users and some of us are iPhone users, but we're all on the same exact plan and we'd expect similar upgrade offers. Am I missing something? Does the app sometimes miss certain promotions and fail to apply them? (The current promotions page is a confusing mess of codes and fine print and eligibility requirements, especially for plans that are no longer sold to new customers. It appears that some upgrade offers are plan cost based, rather than assigned to a specific plan name, and I would think we'd qualify for those, but I don't know what number they use for plan cost: single line, total group, etc). Why would T-Mobile be willing to pony up $900 in subsidies to sell a Pixel and a multi-year contract but only $300 to sell an iPhone, even when trading in the same exact phone, and even though they'd be locking us into identical contracts with similarly-priced phones? I'm this close to bringing our T-Mobile bill to another carrier, having them buy out our existing phone payments, and getting dramatically better deals as a new customer. I don't like having to play this game and worrying at each user's upgrade cycle that T-Mobile has deprecated our plan into uselessness. With these kinds of iPhone upgrade offers, we'd do better switching to a prepaid carrier and just selling our used phones ourselves. ----------- Post-script: Here's T-Mobile's own press release about upgrade offers. Our business plan is functionally (and price) equivalent to Go 5G Plus (and existed at the same time), which gets a $930 incentive, but we're only getting the Essentials/Metro $300 offer. T‑Mobile Deals T‑Mobile customers have great ways to save on the new iPhone lineup — and more financing options available with T‑Mobile’s no-interest Standard EIP or EIP Flex 36, which helps lower upfront costs, meaning $0 at checkout for well-qualified customers.
