GoHarddrive RMA experience
Just wanted to share a good experience I had with goHardDrive since I know we tend to hear a lot more about the bad experiences than the good ones. I bought 5 drives from them through eBay about 2 years ago. One of them ended up failing while I was out of town with a little over 2 years of power-on hours on it. I honestly was expecting this to be a whole thing because I know prices are so much different now. I went back to my old eBay order, messaged them, and they asked me to send over the serial number. They checked it and confirmed it was still under warranty. The not funny part is I bought these drives when prices were WAY cheaper. I paid a little more for all 5 drives back then than what one of them goes for now. So I figured either they’d find some reason to deny the RMA or they’d refund me what I originally paid for the drive, which wouldn’t get me very far today. Nope. They replaced it. They had a replacement shipped out within 2 days. Got it, tested it, threw it in the server and I’m back up and running. The whole thing was honestly painless. No back and forth, no arguing about the warranty. They checked the serial number, confirmed the warranty and sent another drive. I know people have different experiences with refurb/recertified drives, but I figured it was worth sharing mine. I’ve been happy with the drives overall, and after seeing how they handled the RMA and quick response, I’m pretty happy I bought from them. We post when companies screw us over, so they deserve some credit when they do things right too.
