Switching from Claude Code Max to Codex advice from heavy daily users?

After around 2 years of using Claude Code Max, I’m thinking about switching to Codex. Before I make the switch, I’d like to hear from people who use Codex every day for heavy development work. I’m a full-stack developer, not a vibe coder . I use AI as part of my development workflow for things like coding, debugging, code review, refactoring, architecture, DevOps, etc. I still understand and review the code I'm not just telling the AI to build an entire app and hoping it works. My plan is to use GPT/Codex as a subscription through OpenCode and also use it with OpenClaw , alongside my normal daily development work. A little background on my usage: I’m primarily a terminal/CLI user , not a GUI user. I use AI heavily for daily development. With Claude Code Max, I usually use around 50–60% of my weekly usage . The 5-hour sessions are generally enough for me , although sometimes I push them to the limit. I’ve been using Claude Code for around 2 years , so I’m already very comfortable with the terminal-agent workflow. For people who have switched from Claude Code to Codex, especially full-stack developers with heavy daily usage : What should I know before switching? Codex usage limits and how they feel compared to Claude Code? Long/heavy coding sessions? OpenCode integration? OpenClaw integration? Any important configuration or workflow differences? Things you wish you knew before switching from Claude Code? Any limitations that might become a problem for heavy users? I’m mainly interested in real-world experience from people using Codex heavily every day , rather than benchmark comparisons. Thanks!
