Experiments in film emulation (and a few old photos)

So, I complain a lot about open source photo software. They generally have horrendous UIs that are only one step above exposing code directly in the UI. But sometimes you find software that is doing neat stuff that makes the shit UI worth it. Like Spektrafilm for example.

When you first load an image it’s showing you a blurry low-res preview, but once you hit scan (and wait for ages) you get one of the best software film emulations I’ve seen

And, finally, a few photos I shot in 2008 that I’m unreasonably fond of. The first is a photo of the shop window for the used book store in Hverfisgata. Second is of the original Kaffistofa in Hverfisgata run by Samhjálp, a free kitchen for the needy. Third is of a mannequin in a shop front.
