Looking for a non-cliché visual concept for a textless greeting card

Hi everyone! I’d like to ask for professional artistic or conceptual help with a very specific visual challenge. I’m creating a completely textless greeting card for my partner. He is extremely intelligent, highly educated, and intellectually sophisticated. He has a very refined aesthetic sense and is particularly averse to romantic clichés, cheesy symbols, and generic greeting-card imagery (so no hearts, infinity symbols, traditional Celtic knots, etc.). He wouldn’t appreciate those at all. Since there will be no words on the card whatsoever, the drawing itself has to carry the entire message. The main idea I want to express is unconditional, eternal love and connection, complete devotion, but I would like to convey it through an intellectual, minimalist, or fine-art approach. It is important to me that the result is something that would genuinely capture the interest of a person like him: something he would instinctively want to look at more closely, linger over, and try to figure out what the small drawing is trying to say or communicate. What specific visual idea, metaphor, abstract concept, or even entirely different approach would you suggest that could achieve this without slipping into cheesy romanticism?
