How I do I explain leaving the company I cofounded to investors? - I will not promote

Left a company I co-founded to build my own version of it. The last company was venture backed and had revenue, stats, proof, etc, I left and a few months later have decided to rebuild my own version of it. I have no idea how to phrase this to investors though. I already have all the stats, traction, revenue, etc to show an investor from, but since I'm no longer affiliated with the company I cofounded, I don't think I can legally disclose those stats to convey my case. And capital is needed for the company, so I can't build / get revenue with my version until I raise. So its like starting from square 1 pitching to investors. Anyone have any advice here? How would investors look upon this / how should the situation be presented? Any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks!
