Help me understand why my question is receiving downvotes

Maybe I am writing terrible questions, but I have quickly received several downvotes on my recent questions. Example:

On a Zod 4 codec, how can I add additional checks

Question downvotes are anonymous, and I get the impression that simply by asking questions I risk reducing my reputation, which teaches me not to contribute by writing questions at all.

Any advice? Bots at work?

Would it make sense to force downvoters to comment so you know who they are and why they downvoted? After all, downvoting should help to improve the value of questions and not just be dislikes.
