Traverse

Traverse is a macOS outliner with a focused Writer view, flexible outlines, column browsing, attributes, filtering and portable OPML files.

I really love this app. It’s a powerful horizontal outliner (I was a huge Tree fan back in the day) with a plain text (OPML) file format and a very complete feature set. I don’t think it’s as scriptable as Bike, but the GUI is very complete.

Plus, it can stream to Marked 3!

Klipto

Klipto is a fast, native clipboard manager for macOS: hold-to-paste, Stack, smart transforms and OCR search. A one-time, local, no-subscription alternative to Paste, Maccy, Pastebot and Clipy.

This is a cool take on clipboard management. The form filling capability is really nice and it’s less complicated (to me) than the Keyboard Maestro clipboard setup.

rhsev/fileregister

Permanent ids and self-documenting binders for your files, in plain text; references survive renames, moves, and a change of machine.

This is a very cool one from Ralf Hülsmann.

Lucky Dangle

Choose a lucky charm and hang it from the top of your Mac. It sways while you work, stays out of every click, and drops in when you call it.

Ok, the developer pitched this and I said “why?”. Then I read this blog post and I’m sold on it as entertainment, with various types of spiritual significance from a range of cultures. Plus, the physics are really cool.

Tidy — your Mac tidies itself

Screenshots archived, installers ejected, Downloads sorted — all on its own, from your menu bar. $9 once, no subscription. Works with Apple Intelligence.

This is another entry in what’s getting to be a crowded field, but in testing it, it seemed to be one of the more solid options, and I especially like the auto-ejecting and trashing of old DMG files. Making images searchable by content is a nice touch, even if not entirely novel.

$9 one time, macOS 14+, Intel and Apple Silicon, no account or telemetry, and the OCR and content search work everywhere — only the natural-language rules need macOS 26.
