S&P 500 Futures Steady in Premarket Trading; Elastic, Gap Lead
With U.S. stock markets set to open in two hours, Elastic N.V. (ESTC) was up 17.9% in pre-market trading, and Gap Inc. (GAP) was up 17.0%.
Solstice Advanced Materials Inc. (SOLS), Affirm Holdings Inc. Cl A (AFRM), and Fortis Inc. (FTS) were all posting gains of at least 9%. In early trading, PayPal Holdings Inc. (PYPL) and Terex Corp. (TEX) had posted declines, falling 17.0% and 11.7%, respectively.
Meanwhile S&P 500 futures were down 0.01%, with futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.02%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures were down 2.05%.
In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were down 0.36%, and gold futures were down 0.27%. Bitcoin was down 0.23% to $79,748.
The 10-Year Treasury yield rose to 4.691%.
In the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow were up 0.72% and 0.20%, respectively. Stocks in Asia were mixed overnight, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index up 0.41% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index down 0.11%.
In afternoon trading, stocks in Europe are up, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index climbing 0.51% and the FTSE 100 Index rising 0.18% from the previous close.
