Building 140: preparatory works and traffic changes from August to December 2026

Preparatory works for the future Building 140 will begin on 17 August 2026 and are scheduled to continue until 18 December 2026. This initial phase includes the diversion of existing utility networks and the installation of new networks required to serve the future building.

To keep traffic flowing throughout this phase, Route Bakker will first be temporarily widened. This arrangement will ensure that at least one traffic lane remains open at all times, while maintaining a safe route for pedestrians.

Several temporary traffic and parking changes will be introduced during the works. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout. Cyclists are requested to follow the traffic lanes and arrangements applicable to vehicles.

Impact on traffic and parking

Following the completion of the utility works, a second phase of preparatory works is planned for the first quarter of 2027. This phase will include the demolition of Building 25 and the removal of the remaining slab from the previously demolished Building 102. The main construction works for Building 140 are expected to begin in mid-2027.
