When I want to jump back in movies it jumps forward instead.

I have often witnesed that when I wanted to jump back it instead jumped forward. I have to use the time bar and go many minutes back but it doesn't goes to the chosen time but jumps a bit forward from the chosen time. I hope this explains it enough. I am on version 10.10.7,
