What is an intuitive explanation for WIGNER ROTATION?

I have trouble understanding the nature of wigner rotation. Its often explained by calculating a small rotation resulting of the rotated axes of two different frames : one that has been boosted twice, and the other once, with a "generalised" lorentz boost for 2D space. But I don't get why this difference is of physical relevance, why does something really happen in reality, and, if they are both correct, shouldn't they give the same answer ?
