How do you vet and verify investors. I will not promote

I’m going through the fundraising journey for my startup which is generating revenue. As I cast a net out for investors mostly for seed round (angels and small VCs) I am seeing a lot of spammy and shady investor funds and banks that are asking for thousands for just introducing me to investors. Wanted to know what questions do you ask VCs so you know they are the real deal. I have been reading venture deals btw so I’m getting an idea how this whole thing works.
