Using Your Home Country As Traction: Worth It? I will not promote

I (25M) completed a bachelor's degree 4 years ago and currently hold a a master's degree in computer science. Even though I intend my AI B2C tech startup to be headquartered in the US with a satellite campus in Vietnam (possibly a small office or a few remote engineers), my parents are highly influential within Vietnam. For me, I am very recalcitrant of where to live and even though I travel abroad every year and visit Europe every year, I will never choose to emigrate from the United States of America. My parents (76M, 65F, both retired) are considered former regional healthcare executives, bureaucrats, and ministers, having met the prime minister of Vietnam and having received many "People's" awards throughout the years. They and their network are willing to give me substantial funding on my AI tech startup, and given the fact I have my own capital, I would funnel my capital into the startup. I also have institutional connections by networking with other YC founders, including one who attended the same high school as me. I also have warm introductions from incumbent tech and biotech leaders, both in Boston, in Atlanta, as well as one in SF. I am curious how this all pans out as I will be bootstrapping and leveraging my parents and remote engineers in Vietnam to start an AI tech company, knowing that YC and American VCs are competitive, with a 1% acceptance rate. I am not sure if using Vietnam as a traction starting point is a good thing or would it brand my company as "Vietnamese" to the Western public, my intended audience, as I want to scale it globally.
