Amelia Lerutte starts every workday by checking in with the AI agent that handles her old job.

Lerutte is chief AI officer at SaaStr, an events company for software businesses that operates with just three full-time human employees. One of her previous titles, vice president of marketing, has been held since March of this year by an AI “superagent” named 10k. It leads a digital workforce that has allowed the company to avoid backfilling roughly 10 human positions, including the chief financial officer role and a four-person marketing team.
