Good morning. Right now, it seems that every day is the midterms for leaders of the artificial intelligence industry. Each and every moment brings a new reckoning. If you are building frontier models or constructing massive AI data centers, you are in a sense always on the ballot, and the polls never seem to close.

The pace of the AI build-out, under pressure before Tuesday’s election, may slow down as elected officials and regulators take a tougher stance on allowing new projects to go forward.

Getting data centers built is “going to be harder” after the midterm elections, Meta Platforms President Dina Powell McCormick said Wednesday at the WSJ Tech conference. She did allow that it might not be as hard as it now appears.
