My Reddit posts got 3,000+ upvotes. My only paying customer came from a Telegram channel. I will not promote

I spent two weeks trying to find my first customers by posting on Reddit. In that time I made 23 posts. Two of them passed 1,300 upvotes, two of them passed 350. My two best performers were the favorite subreddit of each age group and Democrats vs Republicans. They got 253 and 642 comments respectively, so I had to spend a lot of time responding. Three of my posts were removed. In total, I got about 1,500 clicks, 5 signups, and 0 paying. My one paying user came from a Telegram channel for Reddit marketers, no virality there. In hindsight, I should have seen this coming. I put my big posts in subs full of chart lovers. Chart lovers don’t pay for software. I chose upvotes over buyers. If you’re someone who has paying customers, I’d love to hear from you. Where did your very first one come from? And did your primary effort go there?
