I got tired of scrolling through 400-message AI chats to find one answer, so I built a Chrome extension that bookmarks them
If you use ChatGPT or Claude for anything long (studying, a project, coding), you probably know this: the one useful answer is somewhere around message 78, the chat search doesn't find it, and half your research is in a different AI anyway. So I built DogEar . It adds a small ☆ under every AI answer, next to the site's own copy button. Star an answer and put it in a project (one per topic) Alt+B lists every star in the current chat. Click one and it scrolls you straight there, even in very long chats where the old messages haven't loaded yet One project, any AI: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok side by side A Library page: search everything, add short notes, export a project as Markdown, or copy a whole project as one prompt to continue in another AI It saves the answer text itself, so your stars survive even if the chat gets deleted. No account, no server, nothing leaves your browser. Open source. Chrome Web Store: chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hmnaddjjpiemgmdjgmcdhgaggiiaibnb GitHub: github.com/rishitsharma017/DogEar 45-second demo: youtube.com/watch It's my first published extension, so honest feedback is very welcome: what's confusing, what's missing, what breaks. These sites change their pages a lot, so bug reports really help.
