Need Advice Choosing a Project (6-Week Timeline)

Need Advice Choosing a Project (6-Week Timeline) I'm a Computer Science student studying DSA and Computer Networks. I want to build a practical project in approximately 6 weeks. I'm not interested in making another basic CRUD application. I want something resembling a real-world product that involves meaningful DSA, data processing, databases, networking, and practical software development. I've shortlisted four ideas: 1. Mini Git — Version Control System A simplified Git-like application to initialize repositories, track files, save different versions through commits, view history, compare changes, and restore previous versions. Remote push/pull functionality if time permits. Concern: I'm unsure whether it offers enough meaningful DSA and data processing, or whether most of the work will be file handling and version management. 2. Mini Database Engine A basic database system where users can create tables, define columns, insert, retrieve, update, delete, and search records. Concern: Storage management, indexing, and query processing seem complex. I'm worried about completing something meaningful within six weeks. 3. Jira-like Project Management Platform A multi-user platform where users can create projects, invite members, assign tasks, set priorities and deadlines, share files, chat, and track progress through reports. Concern: It could become too large, with many modules, and might end up being mostly CRUD operations rather than meaningful DSA. 4. Disk Space Analyzer A desktop utility that scans drives, analyzes folders and files, identifies large and duplicate files, calculates storage usage, and displays visual reports. Concern: It offers interesting DSA opportunities through scanning, hashing, and duplicate detection, but I'm unsure how much database functionality and persistent storage would naturally fit. What I'm looking for My priorities are: DSA: Data structures and algorithms should be central to actual functionality, not artificially included. Real-world value: Something resembling software people could genuinely use. Data processing: Enough data to demonstrate algorithmic optimization and performance comparisons. Database: Persistent storage wherever it makes sense. Networking: Ideally, client-server communication, APIs, or other networking concepts. Feasibility: Achievable by one student within six weeks. I'm personally most interested in Mini Git and the Jira-like platform, but I'm not fully convinced about either. Questions Which project would you recommend based on these requirements? Which offers the best opportunity to demonstrate meaningful DSA and measurable performance improvements? Are my concerns about these projects valid, or am I overlooking something? If you had six weeks to build one of them, which would you choose and why? I'd especially appreciate advice from developers who have actually built software products, backend systems, or developer tools. I'm not necessarily looking for the easiest project. I want the best balance of technical depth, practical usefulness, learning, and successful completion.
