The Four Questions of AI

AI consists of four layers: application, harness & context, model, & data center. Each layer faces an unresolved economic question, & the four layers interplay directly: rising GPU financing costs increase the value of the harness, while model & inference co-design multiplies how many users the same data center hardware can serve.
