Is studying interior design actually worth the money?

Hey guys! I've been looking into interior design courses lately, and honestly, choosing a college is getting more confusing than I expected lol. Some colleges charge a crazy amount, while others have much lower fees. So I'm just trying to figure out what's actually worth it. I know fees aren't the only thing that matters, but I also don't want to spend a lot of money and then realize I could've got the same learning experience somewhere else. For people who've studied interior design, how was your college experience? Did you actually get to work on practical projects, or was it mostly theory and assignments? Also, how's the software training? Things like AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3ds Max seem pretty important in this field. Do colleges teach these properly, or do you end up learning everything from YouTube and online courses? I'm also curious about internships and placements. Is getting a job after graduation mostly about your college name, or does your portfolio and practical experience matter more? Would love to know a few things: What should I actually look for when choosing an interior design college? Are expensive colleges worth the extra money? How important are internships and industry exposure? Is it difficult to get your first job after graduation? Anyone here studied interior design? How was your experience? Anything I should know before getting into it?
