WEB-UI vs Desktop App Plugins/API

I just hopped the DSH train, and it is working so well for me, and I came across plugins however it seems like for me the plugins are only working on the WEB-UI, and also that my API isn't synced from the desktop app to WEB-UI. Does somebody have any way to get it to work, both the plugins and the api sync.
