Missing Printed Magazines

This article from JetGirlArt really hit home. I miss magazines.
Earlier this week, I was at one of our large grocery stores, one that still has a magazine aisle, and was sad to discover that there wasn't a single magazine I was interested in buying.
I regularly go to Barnes & Noble. They still have a whole magazine section, and sometimes I'll find one or two that look interesting, like the current copy of 2600 or one of the Linux magazines.
I have a few magazine collections at home. I have all issues of Mondo 2000, as well as a few issues of High Frontiers and Reality Hackers. I also have copies of Boing Boing (it was a magazine first) and Internet Underground. I even have a dozen or so of the Jewish pop culture magazine Heeb Magazine.

I do have a few modernish magazines in my collection, like the now-defunct Cybr magazine.
In June 2025, I decided to subscribe to Otaku USA, an anime magazine I had picked up a few copies of. I didn't get the Fall issue; support said my first issue would be Winter 2025, but that never came. I'm still waiting for my first issue to be delivered.
This also seems like a good time to promote MagLiteracy, an organization I've worked with:
Our vision at MagLiteracy is to leverage the special power of magazines to increase literacy to improve the lives of children and families who have limited access to reading materials.
