Amazon Discloses New Up To $80 Billion Supplier Financing Loan

Amazon disclosed a new up to $80 billion loan facility to purchase technology infrastructure assets in its third quarter results filing. Amazon can borrow from the facility between the first quarter of 2027 and the third quarter of 2028, and the debt is due five years from the date Amazon borrows. Amazon did not disclose what assets it will purchase with the facility, who the lenders are or the rate at which the loan bears interest.

Amazon has been on a borrowing spree, raising tens of billions of dollars from the bond market, as it looks to fund its AI data center buildout, which is said will result in $220 billion in capital expenditures in 2026. When Amazon borrows from the new loan facility, it will count as long term debt. Amazon had $173.1 billion in outstanding long-term debt as of the end of the third quarter of 2026, up 164% from the $65.6 billion in long-term obligations Amazon had at the end of the third quarter last year.
