Enterprise AI Is on the Ballot Too
Good morning. The tech policy and regulation conversation swirling around next week’s midterm elections can feel an order or two removed from chief information officers and enterprise AI deployments.
Maybe that’s because much of it concerns curbing the capabilities of cutting-edge frontier models and slowing the data center build-out, issues which can seem to impact AI developers and tech companies more than their enterprise customers.
Even just this week, Todd Lohr, vice chair and head of Client Technology & Innovation, KPMG told me he doesn’t know of any CIOs who are holding their breath over the outcome of any particular midterm result as it relates to their AI strategies.
But it’s worth noting that a lot of ongoing policy conversations actually could have broad reaching impacts into how CIOs are building and deploying their AI solutions—whether those impacts are intended by regulators or not.
