S&P 500 Futures Decline in Premarket Trading; Intel, Reddit Lag

With U.S. stock markets set to open in two hours, Donaldson Co. Inc. (DCI) was up 10.7% in pre-market trading, and Mondelez International Inc. Cl A (MDLZ) was up 8.0%.

BrightSpring Health Services Inc. (BTSG), Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. (REGN), and Rivian Automotive Inc. Cl A (RIVN) were all posting gains of at least 6%. In early trading, Intel Corp. (INTC) and Reddit Inc. (RDDT) had posted declines, falling 25.7% and 19.0%, respectively.

Meanwhile S&P 500 futures were down 1.05%, with futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.12%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures were down 0.27%.

In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were up 2.42%, and gold futures were down 1.19%. Bitcoin slipped 3.93% to $77,574.

The 10-Year Treasury yield dropped to 4.911%.

In the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow were down 0.30% and 0.25%, respectively. Stocks in Asia were down overnight, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index down 2.12% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index falling 1.44%.

In afternoon trading, stocks in Europe are mixed, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.17% and the FTSE 100 Index increasing 0.31% from the previous close.
