Clauned.
Every year, people pay $10 billion to freelancers for websites.
We all know that AI, like Claude, can now make any website.
But the consensus is that it’s all slop: bad taste, the same visuals and animations, over and over. No serious company would vibecode their website with Claude.
This time, the latest Claude-Opus-5.5 feels too strong.
So I gave it my hardest test possible:
- Find an award-winning website. I’m talking about these crazy animated websites that easily cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
- Give my Claude Code the website + my GitHub (where my code is) + my Vercel (to publish the website on the internet).
- A specific prompt with the /goal command + wait long enough for Claude to copy everything.
I thought Claude would fail miserably, with sloppiness & hallucinations.
But if I am writing this newsletter to 996,000 readers, it’s because I can’t believe the result. Claude Code, prompted correctly, can copy any website:
This newsletter will teach you how.
All you need is a Claude subscription + Claude Code + GitHub + Vercel.
And time. About 58 minutes for the award-winning website clone.
Before starting, make sure:
- You have 10 minutes. To set up your Claude.
- You share this newsletter. Sharing is caring, and it’s free.
Step 1. Find a good website.
You can copy any website. What’s hard is finding good ones.
Pick one from this list, and move to step 2.
→ Awwwards: winning websites, from the best designers and developers. That’s where I found Lama Lama, an agency in Amsterdam.
→ CSS Design Awards: sites compete for Site of the Day.
→ Godly: “the best design inspiration on the Internet”, in their own words.
→ SiteInspire: hand-picked websites, new ones every day.
→ Hoverstat.es: “the home of alternative web design”.
→ Land-book and Landingfolio: landing pages, templates and sections.
→ One Page Love: websites on a single page.
💡 Pro tip: copy a style from any industry.
Taking from the aerospace industry for a service company was a winner. Taste is about the unexpected bridge between different worlds.
I have a company called GPC - to help US companies adopt AI.
I love our website. But I wanted to try my new workflow and build 3 new websites for GPC based on the ones I selected here:
→ Nualt: a design and development studio in Paris.
→ EnduroSat: satellite missions, from design to launch.
→ Crosswalk: an AI and data governance advisory in Chile.
Now that you picked your website, move on to step 2.
I run Claude live workshops every week for my paid community. Upgrade today.
Step 2. The prompt.
I built a library on my GitHub, and made it public, to Remake anything with Claude Code. And no, I still don’t know how to code.
Remake visits the page once, like you would, at computer size and phone size. It keeps every file the page loads, and rebuilds the site in a folder that’s yours.
It works until 98% of each screen matches.
You need three things:
- Claude Code, in the Claude desktop app (on a paid Claude plan).
- A free GitHub account. It keeps your website’s code.
- A free Vercel account. It puts your website online.
Everything is free, but your Claude account.
1: Create a free GitHub account.
GitHub is where your website’s code lives online. Think of it as a Google Drive for code. You don’t need to pay. The free plan is enough.
Go to github.com. Click Sign up (right in the middle).
2: Create a free Vercel account.
Vercel turns your code into a website with a link.
Go to . Click Continue with GitHub.
Vercel’s free plan is for personal sites only. A business site needs Vercel Pro: $20 a month.
3: Open Claude Code.
Open the Claude desktop app → Code. Pick a new, empty folder. Pick Auto.
4: Paste this prompt.
Replace the link with the website you picked:
/goal Remake [THE WEBSITE URL YOU CHOSE] with github.com/rubenhassid1/remake until its report says REMAKE COMPLETE, or stop after 100 turns.I gave Claude this prompt, my company GPC, and 3 websites I wanted to remake (using my data from GPC).
Before you click on it, remember: these are all ONE SHOT. By that I mean one prompt to Claude, and Claude gave me 3 websites, done.
Here they are:
You heard that right. Claude Code made me 3 websites from scratch, code and deployment, for my existing company GPC (after carefuly taking information there). All of this is one-shot. No edit on my end. Never touching the code.
Wow.
One of the problem obviously is using their video/picture.
You have to replace them on the 3rd part of this newsletter.
This newsletter grows because people like you share it for free.
Step 3. Replace everything.
Their photos aren’t yours. And you don’t have the pictures to fill their layout: Lama Lama’s homepage alone had 65. It’s the biggest blocker.
So Remake (my free Github) fixes it.
Paste this as a follow-up prompt:
Goal: replace every picture on my remake with a new one made for my company. Same spot, same shape, same light and colors as the original, but a new picture: never their people, their text or their logos.
Context: my company is [name]. We [what you do]. My brand colors are [colors]. My own photos are in [folder]. If you need more context, ask me questions. Here’s mine for example:
Goal: replace every picture on my remake with a new one made for my company. Same spot, same shape, same light and colors as the original, but a new picture: never their people, their text or their logos.
Context: my company is GPC, General Purpose Consulting. We train teams to use AI at work. My brand colors are [RUBEN: GPC's colors]. Our headshots and workshop photos are in [RUBEN: your folder].
If you need more context, ask me questions. Here’s what Claude does:
→ It lays out every picture of the original on one sheet, measured: shape, colors, brightness.
→ It writes what each new picture should show: your company, in their framing.
→ It makes them with image generation on your ChatGPT plan. You don’t need an API key: Remake finds the ChatGPT app on your Mac and uses its image tool.
→ It credits every picture, so you know where each one came from.
→ You don’t have a ChatGPT plan = Remake takes free public-domain stock photos instead, or draws abstract art in the site’s own colors.
→ You have no videos either = Give Claude a photo. Remake turns it into a slow-zoom clip that plays where their video was.
It can’t remake 3D models. EnduroSat’s 3D satellite is theirs, and stays theirs until you replace it. But you can ask Claude Code to make one. It takes a bit longer, but it’s definitely doable.
The more you work on it yourself, the closer it is to owning it.
And I am all of the more for owning everything.
But we also need to have an honest conversation: everything is going open-source. Design. Websites. Apps. Softwares. Ideas. AI is the great equalizer. It’s impossible to fight reverse-engineering everything. That’s why so many companies, and people (*ahem*, me) have an existential crisis.
If you can reverse-engineer everything, what’s so special about your company?
If you can reverse-engineer your work, what’s so special about you?
I want to believe it’s taste.
And our ability to be at the frontier of AI.
Right now, the frontier is Claude. I am teaching how to start.
I run Claude live workshops every week for my paid community. Upgrade today.
Step 4. How to start.
Alright. That was a lot. Let’s recap:
→ Pick one website from the list in part 1.
→ Paste my prompt.
/goal Remake [THE WEBSITE URL YOU CHOSE] with github.com/rubenhassid1/remake until its report says REMAKE COMPLETE, or stop after 100 turns.→ Replace every picture. Every video. Use Claude Code for that.
→ Make it yours, until the swap board says 100%.
Claude is where I spend most of my days.
I wake up, and I open two apps: Slack (to talk to my team) and Claude Code (to work).
You pay Claude $100 a month. $1,200 a year.
But you (probably) use a fraction of it. Not because Claude is hard. Because nobody showed you how. Not even Claude themselves (kinda crazy, I know).
There is no manual or instructions. And the tool changes every week.
And I am not paid by Claude. So I only share what I like about it (and also what I hate, because I still hate a lot of its limitations).
I could lie to you.
I could tell you Claude is very hard. It’s not.
I could charge $200 per class. I won’t.
You only need 69 minutes:
- Go from Zero to Pareto. Every Monday, we host 23 minutes go through the basics of Claude. The entire UI of Claude, every tab, button and settings. You do it once or twice, and you move on.
- Claude Code 101. 46 minutes to go from 80% to 95%. How to use Claude Code, connected to GitHub, Vercel, and our favorite apps.
Both are live, every single week. Both are recorded.
Both are in my paid subscription: $200 a year. $17 a month.
Less than a fifth of what you pay Claude.
