Which to pursue? I will not promote
Idea 1: A platform for people looking to develop or upgrade hospitality properties, featuring glamping sites, cabins, modular homes, eco-resorts, boutique stays, wellness installations, equipment like hot tubs, saunas, outdoor cinemas etc. Property developers, STR entrepreneurs and hospitality operators can browse concepts, compare options, and connect with relevant suppliers, manufacturers, and installers through one platform. Revenue would come from commissions on completed transactions, qualified project leads. Pros: higher commission, less clients to deal with but bigger sales payoff Cons: Having to convince manufacturers, suppliers to partner and share commission Idea 2: A platform for discovering and booking mobile, on location (come to your venue) food, beverage, and interactive experiences for corporate events, brand activations, company retreats, private celebrations, and community gatherings. It would feature curated vendors offering coffee carts, food trucks, dessert stations, grazing tables, live cooking, tastings, workshops, and similar services, with clear packages, pricing, capacities, and booking options. Revenue would primarily come from commissions on confirmed bookings, with potential additional income from premium listings, add-ons, and repeat corporate booking arrangements. Pros: quicker cash flow, in demand especially towards end of year, more bookings overall Cons: a lot of operations, logistics, food safety, cancellation possibilities, disintermediation for next booking If you were choosing between these two ideas, which would you pursue for the best combination of making money relatively quickly, generating cash flow, long-term business viability, customer demand, and international expansion potential, without spending money on advertising? Which would be easier to get off the ground and grow organically, and what major risks or blind spots am I overlooking?
