Nvidia CEO Reportedly Targeted By Suspected Chinese Informant

American officials found that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang had a “close relationship” with a Chinese businesswoman who allegedly shared intelligence with Beijing authorities, the New York Times reported. President Donald Trump was briefed on the findings about a year ago and did not take action, according to the Times.

The woman, Alice Huang, was affiliated with Singapore-based Megaspeed, an Nvidia customer under scrutiny for potentially helping bring valuable Nvidia AI server chips to China, the report said.

An Nvidia spokesperson said that “Megaspeed has been no different than many other regional cloud customers” and that Jensen Huang’s interactions with Alice Huang are not “unusual or unexpected.” The spokesperson denied that Nvidia’s “regional cloud customers” receive any sensitive Nvidia trade secrets.
