Why is the compressor before the condenser in a fridge?

Feel this question may have an obvious answer but why not have the order be instead of evaporator, compressor, condenser, throttle: evaporator, throttle, condenser, compressor. In fact why not have it be any permutation of the above?

I think I remember reading a long time ago the ordering is so the refrigerant boils and condenses when desired. However, I don't understand how that would make sense thermodynamically. So, the compressor is before the condenser to squish the vapour to make it easier to condense? The diagram above, however, shows that there would be a higher enthalpy difference between the compressed gas and the saturated vapour so it would be indeed harder to condense it.
