@thore pinged us for a big update of Ente Locker:

Ente Locker now has document scanning, powered by what looks like copying FairScan’s code from Kotlin to Rust, surely that won’t end up in a drama:

  • Big annoucement here
  • Fairscan devs analysis here

…grab some popcorn.

@Licaon_Kter brings a post about 10 apps worth installing. It’s a 19 minutes read, but if you don’t have the time, here’s the TL;DR: Exodus, NewPipe, Fennec, Aegis, KeePassDX, Syncthing-Fork, AntennaPod, Phonograph Plus, Tusky, and Qalculate.

L_K notes that Proton VPN - Secure and Free VPN has a new app added with reproducible builds enabled. The old app id will still get updates. Yet, naming an app “non-reproducible” made users confused, they technically are both reproducible, it’s just a question of who signed the package. Historically, the now named “non-reproducible” one is signed by F-Droid because when added, years ago, the app could not be made reproducible. But it went through a full rewrite, and the new codebase is much modern and easier to reproduce. We are in contact with the developers, they are aware and we will work with them to somehow combine both in a way that users like.

@shuvashish76 reminds us of an update of Aard2 after 2 years. It includes a redesign with Material You and many other updates. Take a look at the changelog for more details.

And BatteryBot Pro was updated after 5 years. If you’ve been using it for so long you also got a present, unfortunately. The app won’t update, so you’ll need to uninstall the old version and install the latest.
