I spent months building a startup by myself. Turns out building it was the easy part.
A few weeks ago, I launched MeSIM — a travel eSIM marketplace I built entirely myself. The idea was simple: why are people still paying ridiculous roaming charges when travelling overseas? So I built a platform with 7,000+ eSIM plans across 200+ destinations, focusing on making international mobile data as affordable as possible. No investors, no employees, just me building and figuring things out as I go. So far: Around 250 organic visitors a day $100–$150 in daily revenue First customers coming in without relying heavily on paid ads Still figuring out how to scale traffic consistently The biggest lesson I've learned? Building a product people can use is one thing. Getting people to discover it is a completely different challenge. I've tried SEO, Reddit, comparison sites, affiliates and a bit of paid advertising. Some things have worked, others have been a complete waste of money. I'm now trying to grow MeSIM into something that can compete with much bigger players like Airalo and Holafly. Would genuinely love some feedback on the site, particularly the pricing, user experience and anything that might put you off buying. mesim.io For those who've launched something from scratch, what actually got you from your first 5 customers to your first 100? Are high cost backlinks worth it? on tavel niche blogs? any advice on where i should be putting my money and at what budget for some one in my position?
